Trip Description

MUST BE ALASKAN RESIDENT TO PARTICIPATE

Our best value!  Time on the Copper is always better with your friends and family! With our "Book the Boat" option, you can select the day and time for your  Dipnet adventure at time of booking then  prior to leaving town for the river you give us a call and our guides will advise you on which fishery is running better at that time and if any Department of Fish and Game Emergency Orders may affect your charter. Not only is it the most flexible option, it is also the most cost effective charter we offer for groups of five. Best part is, you can add  an additional (sixth) person and share net at a steep discount! This great for kids or parties who want to take a break or relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery of the charter. Bring an out of town guest as an observer and let them watch, but no touching!

Your party will be responsible for showing up with the appropriate permits on the date and time of your reservation. Keep in mind the the Glennallen Subsistence permit is ONLY AVAILABLE from DF&G during normal business hours and NOT on weekends or holidays. Contact them for hours of operation to obtain this permit.

TRIP DETAILS

This is a fully guided and outfitted trip on the Copper River.  We help you remove fish from your net, bonk, gill and place in totes. This gets your net back in the water faster to maximize your catch potential. Charter time includes travel time to and from fishery and is about 5-1/2 hours start to finish.

Please keep in mind that the Copper River is divided into two sub districts for management purposes. Users may participate in ONLY ONE of these two fisheries in any given year.

The Glennallen Subdistrict is classified as a subsistence fishery, and either fishwheels or dipnets are allowable gear. No sport fishing license is required for this fishery. These permits are ONLY available at local DF&G offices in Anchorage, Palmer, Glennallen, etc.

The Chitina Subdistrict  is classified as a personal use fishery, and dipnets are the only allowable gear. Sport fishing license is required for this fishery. Permits are available at local retailers such as Fred Meyer's, Sportsman's Warehouse, & Mountain View Sports.
